NNJR-SCCA Covid-19 Update
To our NNJR Solo members,
First and foremost, I hope you and your family are doing well in this unprecedented time as we wait at home for the State of NJ to begin opening up that so we can get out to AutoX again. Some of you may not know, but New Jersey State Police regulate all racetracks, and we fall under that umbrella. NJSP will issue us a license when we will be able to run, without that, we can be shutdown and not have insurance from the SCCA. We will have to be patient as the safety and health of the community is more important right now.
After speaking with MetLife Stadium, they are in a holding pattern waiting for guidelines to be provided by the Governor to move forward. Once this all pans out, hopefully, we can get a few dates in during the summer. As of 5/13, the State Fair has not been canceled; which we all know should not go on, and I am sure it will be canceled. Once we do get the go-ahead to run, there will be new Operational Plans and Procedures that must be followed, including SCCA Member Only events. No spectators and no loaner helmets are just a few of the changes we will be implementing. Once we finalize the new policies, we will post it for everyone to read over. There are some local SCCA regions that have held events with success based on the attendees following all the proper social distancing and health procedures put in place.
Stay safe everyone,
Perry Aidelbaum
