Evan Schickel – 2015 NNJR SCCA Driver of the Year

Congratulations to Evan Schickel, the 2015 NNJR SCCA Driver of the Year!
Evan had very successful season in his #30 B-Street 1999 Corvette FRC. He started off with a class win at the NJ ProSolo and made it to the final round of the Super Shootout, where he coned away the win against Mark Daddio. Evan backed up his first-ever win at a national event with another class win at the Wilmington Spring ProSolo later that month. At the Devens Tour he won again and earned himself the pick as SportsCar Magazine’s favorite to win B-Street at the Solo National Championship.
At the ProSolo Finale in Lincoln, NE, Evan won his class with a 0.093 second margin of victory over Alex Muresan, thus earning the title of 2015 SCCA ProSolo B-Street Class Champion. A wet first day and low car number with drying conditions left Evan in 13th place after Day 1 of the Solo National Championship. Determined to prove himself on his first trip to Lincoln, he was fastest in the class on Day 2 and clawed his way up to 6th place overall.
Evan has found a seat in SSR for 2016, and will be competing against some of the best drivers in SCCA Solo. Best of luck to him!
