Official NASA-TT Website

Fellow Racers,

Hoosier is on board for 2010 with region contingency payouts to NASA-TT classes. Please read the terms below carefully and pass it on to anyone who may be interested:

"Hoosier has once again included our TT drivers in their NASA contingency program.  If you haven't seen it yet, it has changed a little from last year:
1st Place - 1 tire (minimum 3-6 cars in class)
1st Place - 2 tires (minimum 7 or more cars in class)
2nd Place - 1 tire (minimum 5 or more cars in class)
3rd Place - 1 tire (minimum 7 or more cars in class)

So, even for the smaller classes with only 3 drivers, the ability to win two Hoosiers in one weekend is still great (around $750 for the larger tires).

However, we absolutely must get our drivers in line with the requirements of the program.  Please spread the word that the tires won MUST NOT be sold.  They shouldn't be sold as new, and they shouldn't be sold as take-offs. In fact, they shouldn't even be given to anyone else.  Here is the wording in the webpage:

"Any tires received through this program are for the recipients use only and are not to be sold or given to anyone else."

Why am I telling you this?  Because, I was sent this a few days ago from Hoosier:

Yesterday I received a phone call from a West
coast tire dealer. He was asking about the NASA program for this year -
then proceeded to tell me about "some" of the guy's running in TT, that
they are selling off their "won" contingency tires, and he has bought tires
off of them!! This is totally against the Rules of our program, the
spirit/intention of the program and why we decided to offer it to the TT
Group. We heard of a few instances of this happening last year, but it will
not be tolerated this year. If this continues, a few "bad apples" will
spoil it for the whole bunch, we will put an immediate stop to this TT
program, and it will cease to exist.

So, let's get the word out so that a few guys don't ruin this program for everyone!"

The above correspondence came from the NASA national office. Please spread the word so people don't abuse the contingency prizes. We all can use good rubber. If you win 'em, cord 'em.

Regards,
