Friday AutoX Schedule
Regular AutoX Schedule for Sat or Sun
2009 Schedule AUTOCROSS SCHEDULE: NOTE: Commerce Bank Ballpark will change it's name to "TD Bank" soon.
July 17th - This
is the first day of the 3 day annual Grand Slam event, which offers all 3
courses at Pocono on Friday, following by HPDE / Races at the Double Infield
configuration on Saturday, and Long – Single Infield runs on Sunday. In
addition to the HPDE, we will be running the TT session at the end of the day on
Friday on the East Course. For more details and registration, please refer to
the notes on May 2nd event. September 4th – We
will run an autocross at the East Course of Pocono. In order to maximize the
track time, we will start the day with 2 sessions of HPDE with instructors
available to assist. We will run 20 to 30 - minutes sessions rotating 2 or 3
groups, depending on the number of drivers until the lunch time, which should
allow at least 2 or 3 sessions per driver. After lunch we will run an autocross
on the same East Course until the rest of the day. The cost will be $150/160 for
a full day. Those, who are interested only in the afternoon autocross can sign
up for $80 for the afternoon. To register – log onto www.axwaresystems.com/axorm. We are in the process of securing and scheduling more autocrosses at couple of other sites. The decision to eliminate the requirement for MSNE membership in 2009 was dictated by few factors, where economics was not the least one. Considering, that the Giants Stadium is under construction and not available to run at, we are forced to look for alternative sites, which are still not easy to find, and may not be as big as we used to. Considering, that we may not be able to offer as many events as usually, we felt unfair to subject our members to the membership fee, which might not be offset by the discount given at the events. We will continue to offer NASA members a $10 discount off the autocross fee. Since we had a long standing history of association with PDA, and then NASA NE/PDA club, we would encourage all, especially those who are interested in participating at the track events, to obtain the NASA membership. It is the same as used to be MSNE’s in price and very close in benefits offered. MSNE will continue to operate as an independent club, with it’s own rule set, regulation, administration, as well as finances. We will also continue to develop more joined events with NASA NE/PDA, especially in our trips to the tracks. We also realize, that there are some of our regular members, who only interested in autocrosses and may elect not to obtain the membership from NASA. For those we will offer to cover the expense of attending the annual banquet at the end of the season, providing they attended at least 4 of our events during the 2009. If the situation will change for the better in 2010, and we will be able to offer 12 to 14 events as before, the board may consider to re-instate the requirement for the MSNE membership.
