**- Official -** Results for Event 13 Held on 10/24/1999 at Nazareth Speedway
"The PAX Gods Must be Crazy"

It was the next to coldest event that we have held this year. I think it was about 32 degrees in the morning warming up to about 40 by the afternoon; with the Nazareth wind made the wind chill about 20. The sun came out a little bit in the morning and then never showed until the last runs of the last heat. Today we had 103 competitors taking 115 runs. It was so cold when I went for my first run and spun out in the first corner due to loss of traction and whacked the double gate sideways. The cones slid as if they were hockey pucks on Ice. The cones were so cold the only way they would bend was if you dragged one under your car, then they got warm and mushy, right Steve L. We also wish Robin L. a happy ?? birthday as we ate chocolate cake, baked in the Rosenberg Bakery, at the lunch breake. The course was just as fun as the last Nazareth course but this one was set up by Ken Buck and one helper whose name I do not know. Your started off in the normal Naz fashion by going to the left. This time we stayed left and made a right circle then blasted back across the middle as this transition seemed to be very tricky for most people, it did however make for some very spectacular spins. Then another right loop with a Chicago box and then a hairpin on to a short blast down to a very tricky zig-zag before the finish. I think everyone here hit one of the two cones before the finish at least once, I know I did. Nazareth, even though Nascar made some permanent changes to our running area that reduced our running area by 1/4 we still have had some very good courses. Thanks again for a really great year. Now on to the results:
Before we get to the results there were 56 people who ran at least 6 events and qualified for a year end trophy. The top 4 finishers in each class will receive a trophy at a ceremony that we will be planning very soon. In Amod it was a battle of the SAE teams. Marcus Mazza of the Lehigh SAE took the win over the Drexel Dragon driven into second place by Gene McMurray. There were no year end trophies in Amod. Bill McMichael took his first win in AS beating Justin Bedard by a half a second. There were 5 drivers that qualified for a trophy taking first was Bart Enz followed by Bob Gill, Justin Bedard and Dmitri Zorine edging out Joe Caffey for fourth. John Early beat Jeff Halper in ASP and there were no YET, Year End Trophies. Vern Lyle was the only one of the Lyle's to brave the open cockpit on this very chilly day. With BS points all locked up for the year most of the entrants did not want to brave the weather so they stayed home however Jim Blanton took his Miata to his second win in a row over Jeff Lloyd driving a Miata for the first time. From the smile on Jeff's face I'm sure that we will see him in one next year. There were 8 drivers that qualified for YET the top four were as follows: Perry Aidelbaum, Keith Klass, Jeff Lloyd and George Zygmaniak. There were no BSP competitors today but Joe Perlo had it all locked up for the YET. In CS Mike Grabenstein took the win over Bill O'Toole III. Congratulation have to go out to Bill O'Toole III (Son) Beat O'Toole Jr (Father) in the series by one point. What will the O'Toole's be driving next year?????? Ray Cheslock took his third win of the year over Steve Snow and Erick Panger. There were 6 Drivers that qualified for YET in CSP; taking it was Sean Christie over Steve Snow, Ray Cheslock and Erick Panger. In DS Mike Hare took his first win of the year beating Bill Sherwood by .242. Good going Mike. The DS points play out as follows Tony Savini, Bill Sherwood, Mike Hare and Gerry Walsh. Ken Buck wins DSP
as well as his first Pax win in history over Steven Rosenberg. DSP YET are Ken Buck, Pat O'Conner Jr. Carolyn Spivak and Pat O'Connor Sr. Bob Frank takes the EP win as well as the only trophy in EP. ES is the big story today with Steven Rosenberg beating Scott "might have to get some new shoes for next year" Schorle. Scott and Steven were tied as of the start of the last event and unlike last year where Steven won the last event to tie the points only losing because Scott had more wins was not going to happen this year. Scott laid down a time of 55 something in his first run while Steven was out whacking cones on his first 2 runs. Steven put down the winning time in the last run while Scott Coned his last run to give Steven the Trophy. Scott Thanks for a great year Steven. Robin Lumb came in a close third in the trophy hunt. ESP was also a very competitive class this year with Ian McFetridge taking the win today and by doing so tied up the points battle with Aaron Fry who came in second today. Ian gets the trophy because Ian had 6 wins this year and Aaron had only 5. Paul Ziembicki took the third place trophy in ESP. Eric Simmons took FS over Mark Manjarez by only .147 while already locking up the points several events ago was Jonathan Rush with Tom DiSessa in second. In GS Mark Lapos beats Bill O'Toole Jr (Father) testing out the Contor as a possiblity for next year AutoX vehicle. Jeff MacRae takes the YET in GS over Brian Mullaney and Mark Lapos. In HS Rob Johnson Jr. beat Neck Lehmann for the win and also locking up the points lead over Vlad Kozlovsky who came in a close second in YEP. Steve Landstra beat Doug Reeves taking the win. Joe Savukinas takes home the SS YET over Steve Landstra and Robert Allen, who is a shoe in for winner next year. Last but not least is ST1 with 7 drivers qualifying for a YET this year. Patric Goss takes the win over Tony Powell and Kelly Nelson at today's event. Patric Goss takes the YET followed by Tony P., Brian Van Lieu and PJ McGarvey. In ladies class there is only one lady that qualified for a YET so taking the win a big congratulations goes out to Candida Maust. Congradulation to all and sorry for letting this go long.
